The Miami Barber Institute (MBI) proudly celebrated the Class of 2025 Graduation on Sunday, January 25, 2025, at the prestigious Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition Ballrooms. This momentous occasion, hosted by MBI’s co-founders—Luis Castillo, President, and Thomas Castillo, Lead Instructor—brought together students, instructors, staff, alums, family, and friends to honor the dedication and achievements of our graduates.
A Milestone of Excellence in Barbering
The ceremony was a true testament to the hard work, passion, and perseverance of MBI’s graduating class. As future barber industry professionals, these students have demonstrated exceptional skill and commitment throughout their training.
Special recognition was given to outstanding graduates for their performance excellence:
- Jesús Cabrera
- Javier Estevez
- Yelier Nieves
- Julio César Prieto
Additionally, MBI awarded two of the most prestigious honors of the evening:
- Graduate of the Year: Yadir Hernandez
- Barber of the Year: Joshua Alfaro
These individuals exemplified dedication, artistry, and professionalism, setting a high standard for future MBI graduates.
The ceremony also featured a distinguished presentation of colors by the G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School Color Guard, adding a sense of honor and tradition to the event.
The MBI Barber Battle 2025: A Display of Talent and Precision
Following the inspiring graduation ceremony, the energy remained high as MBI hosted its annual Barber Battle, an exciting competition that showcased the exceptional talent of our students and alums. Participants competed in three categories:
- Best Haircut – Showcasing precision, creativity, and technique.
- Fastest Fade – Testing speed and efficiency under pressure.
- Color & Design – Highlighting artistic flair and advanced styling techniques.
This thrilling event provided a platform for barbers to display their skills, push creative boundaries, and engage in friendly competition while demonstrating the excellence that defines Miami Barber Institute.
