Miami Barber Institute is extending its instructional schedule beginning August 20, 2026, providing students with additional classroom and hands-on training time each week and allowing its Barber and Restricted Barber programs to be completed in fewer weeks.

Under the new schedule, morning classes will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, adding one instructional hour each day.

The evening schedule will remain Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while the required Friday or Saturday lab will be extended by one hour and will now run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The extended hours apply to both Miami Barber Institute programs:

• • Barber Program: 900 hours
  • Restricted Barber Program: 600 hours

The total number of required program hours does not change. Instead, students will complete more instructional and practical training hours each week, allowing them to complete their programs over a shorter scheduled period. Program requirements are subject to applicable Florida education and licensing regulations.

How Long Does It Take to Complete Miami Barber Institute’s Barber Programs?

With the new instructional schedule, the 900-hour Barber Program can be completed in approximately 30 weeks on the morning schedule or 35 weeks on the evening schedule.

The 600-hour Restricted Barber Program can be completed in approximately 20 weeks on the morning schedule or 24 weeks on the evening schedule.

Individual completion times may vary based on attendance and other applicable academic requirements.

More Time for Hands-On Barber Training

The additional instructional time is designed to give students more opportunities each week to develop and strengthen their practical barbering skills.

Hands-on training is an important part of the educational experience at Miami Barber Institute. Extending the instructional schedule allows students to spend more scheduled time learning, practicing techniques, and progressing toward completion of their required program hours.

At the same time, completing more hours each week means students can reach their required 900 or 600 program hours in fewer weeks.

Morning Schedule

Monday through Friday

9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
