We offer two programs: the Barber Program and the Restricted Barber Program. These programs equip students with the skills for a career in barbering. The Barber Program lasts for a total of nine months, equivalent to 900 hours. Alternatively, students can opt for the Restricted Barber Program, a six-month option totaling 600 hours.

Yes, we proudly offer students the opportunity to apply for our Economic Hardship Scholarship. This scholarship assists nontraditional and immigrant students who may face financial challenges but aspire to become licensed barbers.

- Is MBI officially accredited?
Yes, the Miami Barber Institute takes pride in being an accredited school. We hold licensure from the State of Florida Commission for Independent Education (CIE). We also have received accreditation from the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE). These endorsements confirm our commitment to providing top-quality education and training. Our graduates are well-prepared to thrive in their barbering careers.
- How do you support your alums?
Since our first graduation class, we created an Alumni Network (AN) to inform our graduates about school and industry events, guide them on obtaining their Barber License and invite them to refresher and seminars with respected industry leaders. From there, we have grown the MBI-AN with several services, including assisting our flourishing barber community in preparing for the HIV/AIDS course and renewing their barber licenses. Additionally, we have included fellow professional barbers in our grid to build a more robust network and promote the exchange of experience and business intelligence. Our commitment is to ensure that our alums flourish in their barbering careers.
- Are there housing options for students?
While we don't offer on-campus housing at the Miami Barber Institute, we help our students find accommodations. We provide a list of realtors and rental properties near our school, making it easier for you to transition smoothly into this chapter of your journey.
- How can I access academic advising?
We provide academic and retention advising services for students at no cost and highly encourage all students to use these services for any matters they deem essential in completing their program. Our instructors and academic advisors are available to support you throughout your journey.
- How does MBI help students with issues?
Sometimes, students may face challenges in their lives. If you need any assistance, whether it's related to your life, academics or finances, we are here to help. You can contact your instructor or your academic advisor for guidance. Additionally, we can provide you with a list of agencies that offer counseling and other professional services if needed.
- Is employment guaranteed after completing the program?
While the Miami Barber Institute offers job search services such as job referrals, resume development, professionalism training, interview preparation and job search skills workshops, we cannot guarantee employment for any student. It's important to note that completing a course or program in a language other than English may affect employability in areas where English proficiency is required
- What financial assistance options are available?
We strive to make pursuing a career in barbering as easily accessible as possible by providing financial assistance options for students. These include private loans and educational financing programs. At the moment, we don't offer Federal Aid assistance.
